November Product Feature: TotalCheck
Years ago, One Source The Background Check Company saw a need in the market and worked to fulfill that need. We were driven to offer a product that worked for a large publicly held company that hires thousands of applicants a month and also benefit a small civic group that may bring on one volunteer a quarter. The need was great, the idea was greater, bundle the most used services together to create a screening product our clients would use. TotalCheck was born and continues to be an easy way for you to enhance the safety and security of your organization. This robust background check service package gives you the comprehensive results you need. We are so proud of this service, it has been register trade-marked, so you can only come to One Source to receive the service.
Our all-in-one TotalCheck package includes:
Also known as Social Security Number (SSN) verification/trace or name/address verify, this search reviews a SSN trace, full name, address, issuance state and year as well as death index. Additional information not available for public view includes names and addresses previously used from a series of credit databases. Applicant Verification searches with SSNs reported as “Unable to Validate” are either not valid or were issued after June 2011. Names and addresses are not confirmed by the Social Security Administration. One Source does not verify that Social Security numbers are accurate or issued to the subject, unless specifically requested by the client with additional consent from the applicant. The information we provide cannot be used to determine credit, insurance or employment eligibility. Turnaround Time: <24 hours
County/Statewide Criminal Search
This is the only way to receive real-time, original source records at the felony and misdemeanor level as best practice. This includes a search of any of the 3,300+ counties and territories across the United States. County criminal searches go back as far as the county allows unless there are state, client, court, vendor or legal restrictions; seven years minimum is the industry standard. As several states make automated county searches available, which include all counties in the state, One Source desires to include that additional information for our clients. One Source will only utilize a statewide system if it consistently meets the exact same requirements that we utilize for a single county search. All counties in the state are required to use the system equally in terms of types of records recorded for a MINIMUM seven (7) years. One Source does not substitute database, state patrol or other types of record searches for Statewide Criminal. Statewide Criminal is ALWAYS county criminal from every county in the state. Turnaround Time: 24-48 hours - these times vary by location.
Multi-Court Jurisdictional Database
Also known as US Nationwide Criminal, this is used as a supplemental search to the County Criminal searches as this is a pointer file only and the information is required to be verified to confirm accuracy. This is a search of a database that contains over 650 million records (70% that are updated as frequently as weekly.) Searches may include Administrative Offices of the Court, Department of Corrections, County Arrest Records, Departments of Public Safety, Traffic Courts across the US, Washington DC, outlying territories and islands. There is no real time United States national criminal index as all jurisdictions are not required to report unlawful activity. A full source list can be provided upon request. Turnaround Time: <24 hours
Sex Offender Registry
One Source provides a complete search of the Sex Offender Registries from all 50 states, Washington DC, outlying territories and islands, as well as over 40 tribal registries. This is a real-time search updated every 24 hours and does not rely on one national site. Name variation allows for a wider search range to provide a higher probability of positive matches. A full source list can be provided upon request. Turnaround Time: <24 hours
Our Nationwide Federal Criminal Search looks for crimes that will not be revealed by searching state or county records. Federal crimes include crimes that occur on federal property, against federal agencies or crimes that involve multiple states and are charged in one of the 94 Federal Districts in the United States. Federal records are not made available to database providers and may not be reported in any other way than through a direct search of the federal court system. Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) is the government’s name-based national index for U.S. district and appellate court cases. This search cross references name matches in this index against the Federal Bureau of Prisons database to compare records of persons who have been in federal prison. Turnaround Time: 24-48 hours
The Global Report involves accessing an extensive compilation of public government watch lists including OFAC, OIG, Exclusion Lists, and Most Wanted Lists. Sources are from over 75 global agencies and 70% of all included sources are updated weekly. Additional sanctions and watch lists are added as U.S. or foreign governments and international organizations release them. A full source list can be provided upon request. Turnaround Time: <24 hours
